Iranian navy has escorted 3000 vessels so far: navy chief

TEHRAN - Iranian naval forces have so far escorted over 3,000 commercial vessels and oil tankers from 22 countries in international waters, Navy Commander Rear-Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on Friday.

Sayyari made the remarks before Tehran Friday sermon at the campus of the University of Tehran.
He also said the navy forces are ready to defend the country’s territorial integrity and give crushing response to any threats in free waters.
